The fruit farm is not bad, it's big and got many fruits and plants to see. There's a fish pond too and you can feed the fish, which goes into a feeding frenzy as you throw the fish food. We saw one fish, which had a huge gash on its back, very poor thing, it rush with the other fish for food but it will feel the pain everytime in the process.

I think what most people really liked was the mini-zoo there. They got goats, monkeys, chickens, rabbits, turtles and birds there. Quite fun! You can feed the goats and take picture of them.

The rabbits and a few chicks are left in the open for you to touch and play with them. Quite cute, I like the grey rabbit. There's an ostrich there too and an owl.

The chicken is as small as the birds (see below):

Funny birds:

After lunch, it rained quite heavily, and the rain was quite a downer for the ostrich farm. The ground is made of soft sand and with the rain, your shoes were caked with mud, so it was rather uncomfortable and you don't really feel like walking around.

But it's actually not bad, we saw the ostrich running and also an ostrich actually laying an egg. The smaller ostriches will also peck at anything with its mouth; it will peck at your shirt, youur umbrella, the door of the enclosure, anything, but it don't really hurt, you can give it peck at your hand too. The ostriches are not nice to touch, their fur is quite rough.
Did you know that an ostrich egg can withstand about 100 kg of weight? You can actually stand on it and it won't break. We ate an ostrich omelette and also ostrich satay.
At night, we went to a boat ride to see fireflies. It's not bad, the fireflies mostly rest on the trees and the trees sometimes seem like christmas trees with the fireflies. The light is very small only, have to be near then can see. Most of the time, you won't get the chance to even reach for the fireflies, the boat will keep a distance with the trees and very few of the insects will be flying, much less fly towards the boat. They mostly rest on the leaves. No photos though, coz you are not supposed to shine light on them.
Overall, the trip is not bad. Pretty worth-going!
Before I forget, let me write down what the tour guide said about choosing fruits. He said when fruits grow, the flesh and the skin grow together at the same rate. However, when fruits ripen, the skin stop growing, while the flesh becomes smaller due to changes in the water content i think, hence ripe fruits will have wrinkles on the skin. So, in general, when choosing fruits, should choose those with a bit of wrinkles on the skin and not those that look perfect.
So for durian, you need to shake it. If it's ripe, by right the skin should have more room for the flesh, so you can hear the sound when you shake it.
For orange, I think he said you can press the bottom, see if you can press it in. If it goes in, means it's riper.
For water-melon, it's sort of the opposite, due to some differences in how it grows. The nicer it looks the better, and the heavier it is for its size. You want a watermelon with more water content, so you want one that's heavier for that size.
For honeydew, I think he said to see the stripes. More stripes better I think.
He also mentioned about buying fruits from Malaysia. He said buy from Malaysia is better, because if you buy from further places such as China, they will remove the fruits when it's about 70% ripe due to the time needed for transport.
He said eating wax from apples and grapes is no good. He told us one good way to remove the wax from grapes. You can put flour into water, then put the grapes inside for 15 to 30 seconds. When you take the grapes out, the wax will be gone.
Cool fruit tips!
